About the artist
Barbara Bromley is a
published artist located in Concord, MA. She graduated from Michigan State
University with a BFA degree. For more than thirty years she has refined
her ability to artistically capture the essence of the individual.
Her background includes years as a wildlife,
figurative, and portrait artist. Her media comprises oils, watercolor,
acrylic, pen and ink, pencil, pastel, and mixed media.

As an elementary teacher for ten years,
Barbara enhanced her ability to relate to her subjects. She can identify
unique qualities of the individual, and portray those
characteristics on paper. She believes that emotion and passion are
what creates the magic in an artistic portrait.
Creative process for custom drawings
Barbara gets to know her subjects
through a face-to-face meeting. Example work is reviewed, likes and
dislikes, cost targets, medium choices, etc. Next is a photographic
session where she takes a large quantity of
photographs
as
she interacts with the subject. These
photographs are reviewed between artist and customer, and a final decision is
made on the direction for the art. Barbara creates the image using the
identified media (pencil, pastel, colored pencil, etc). The finished
original artwork is presented to the customer, and if desired prints can be made
as well.
Flexibility
Every customer wants a unique vision for their
custom artwork. Barbara understands this, and will work with you to refine
your vision and create the artwork you want.
